Oregon NORML is excited to announce that the Million Marijuana March is now the GLOBAL CANNABIS MARCH.
Now in our tenth year, we gather at Pioneer Courthouse Square at 11am and we leave the square at High Noon with a full police escort, marching through the streets of Portland to demand an end to adult marijuana prohibition.
We return to the square following the march for a all-day festival to educate the public about the benefits of medical marijuana, industrial hemp, and social cannabis use as compared to alcohol.
Cannabis-friendly bands entertain from the main stage, including Human and the Human Revolution and from Nashville, Tennessee, Chief Greenbud. You'll also hear informative and inspirational keynote addresses from leaders in the national marijuana movement, including Paul Stanford (THC Foundation), Madeline Martinez (NORML Board of Directors), Russ Belville (NORML Outreach Coordinator), Anna Diaz (Oregon NORML Founder, Melodie Silverwolf (KBOO radio host and Oregon NORML Founder), and more.
March Route
The food & item vending begins at 10:00am at Pioneer Square. Get there early to get the best pick!
March preparations begin at 11:00am - if you're a march volunteer, looking to carry a sign or banner, please be here by 11.
THE MARCH LEAVES THE SQUARE AT HIGH NOON. If you are late, you will have to run to catch up with us.
We head south on Broadway, east on Salmon, north on Naito, west on Oak, then south again on Broadway to return to the square.
Speakers and bands will be performing upon our return and continuing until 7pm. There is no official after-party this year.
Bring your own sign or march with one of ours. We only ask you observe one simple request:
NO DOGS - NO DRUGS - NO ALCOHOL - NO CANNABIS (unless you want to share it with our helpful police escorts, who will be glad to exchange it with you for a hefty fine as they lead you out of the square...)
Bring your own Protest Signs - Or download and print out one of ours!
Click on the poster thumbnail to get a larger version PDF file that you can download and take to a print shop (like FedEx/Kinko's) and print to a 24"x36" posterboard - staple that to a stick and you're ready to march! Or just download all the posters in one massive 15MB file here.
