The Fire Marshal showed up to inspect the new location for Oregon NORML's Cannabis Cafe once the word got out about it reopening. He determined that there is a back stairway that needs some work. Unfortunately, that means that only forty-nine people can be in the cafe at a time for now. So, there could be quite a wait at the door on Saturday for the grand reopening. "We apologize for any inconvenience; this was totally unexpected by all involved," reports Madeline Martinez, founder of the cafe. "The press conference scheduled for 3:20pm and the grand reopening at 4:20pm will go on as planned," Martinez said. "We need to work within the parameters set out by the Fire Marshal," stated Anna Diaz from the board of Oregon NORML. "So, we will keep a tally and let people in as others are leaving."
