The Marijuana Cancer Cure Cult
By Bruce Mirken via AlterNet.
While cautious about reports that are "solely anecdotal," Paul Armentano, deputy director and resident science wonk at the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, lays blame for the lack of proper data at the foot of prohibition. "It is a shame that lone individuals must try and engage in the work that the medical establishment should be undertaking, yet have turned a blind eye to," he says. "Unfortunately, what we have is speculation rather than hard science, and we only have the politicization of cannabis to blame."
...
That may be an accurate assessment, but Armentano thinks it's too cautious "given the long established safety of cannabinoids, including THC which is already a legal pharmaceutical, and CBD, which is non-psychoactive, is not a central nervous system depressant and has no risk of overdose."
Not only is there abundant evidence that cannabinoids kill cancer cells, Armentano says, "Investigators now even understand the mechanism of action; in other words, they know how and why cannabinoids kill cancerous cells and halt the spread of malignant tumors."
The question of whether these cannabis compounds can cure cancer in people, he says, "ought to have been already answered decades ago."

I'm living proof
I walked out of the initial stages of colon cancer treatment THREE YEARS ago, and am fat and sassy instead of dead. As close as I can tell the same thing that happened to St Bernadette of Lourdes France. Same setup. I used a medieval recipe, though it appears through history. I've been tinkering with this for some 18 yrs, 10 of that in clandestine college research.
I used an ancient marijuana based form of viral gene therapy, as close as I can tell. I've been to 3 doctors with it (offered one $10,000 to get started- i don't do that much- sorry guys but Mother is gone.) but the marijuana problem makes them not touch it. My mother died of cancer in the interim and at 50% cure rate it would save some 12 peoples lives per minute globally. The implications are huge. I'm at or beyond the limits of my training and/or technology. I can do gas chromatography at home, but that wouldn't tell me anything I couldn't tell from the yellow spots on the subject plants. Electron microscopy on anything human requires a prescription, and viruses rarely cross species. I don't find it strange that humankind would forget a complex biological chain reaction- two interesting facts are that we have an Egyptian mummy with a silver pin in it's knee, and that humankind forgot how to make concrete in the same time period.
Of course I'd love to see this get funded for some real research. Why? Because I'm very tired of watching good people die, as far as I can tell, needlessly. Oh- I don't expect any monetary reward (my student loans?) and I don't care what religion you are, if any. But if it even kindof works (I'm not dead-and there are 62 vatican recognized "miracles" at Lourdes) it'll win the Nobel for sure. Anyone want to cure cancer? In the words of Carl Sagan- "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof". I'm not claiming to have invented oral polio vaccine- but you have to wonder how many fruit stands did they clean out before they found the right strain of penicillium? I'd love to help. I doubt I can give my phone number here- Ask voterpower eugene (?) to get hold of me if you seriously want to research this.
